Objective

To create a realistic plan that is shorter that can be delivered on time or early within budget and delivers what was expected.

To manage the project so that its plan is achieved.

Step by step instructions (Planning):

1. Build the project network using PrT and where necessary TrT, involve the project team in this process 
   (see note below).

2. Assign times and resources to every task.

3. Identify the Critical Chain.

4. Exploit the Critical Chain by moving safety to its most effective location.

5. Present the Critical Chain project to the project team taking care to emphasise the tasks on the critical chain and the location and size of the Project and Feeder buffers.

6. Deal with any reservations using clouds and NBR.

7. Launch the project.

8. Manage the projects through the Critical Chain and the buffers.

Each member of the team should understand the TOC solution Critical Chain.
